LOOKING FORWARD to next SATURDAY, 17TH AUGUST: Let’s round off our great big Giant arts trail with a fabulous community celebration next Saturday 17th August – 10am to 2pm at St Nicholas Parish Hall, Bow St, Guisborough – meet the giant, dance to the Steelworks Steel Band… and more, and more…

Wednesday 7th August: The giants have been walking around town overnight… latest footprints spotted at Guisborough Priory, each one a metre long and beautifully decorated with woodland things – the more you look, the more you’ll see…

Tuesday 6th August: Giants at the Priory! From tomorrow, Wednesday 7th August, the Priory is hosting some beautiful new art work, and you will be able to use your powers of detection: the more you look, the more you will see, and close inspection of the work will enable you to deduce where the giant has been walking… here’s some examples:

Monday 5th August 2024: Following storm damage, our artists and makers have been busy repairing Blooming Huge, the art work at Roseberry Funeral Service (location P on the trail map). It will go back on display tomorrow, Tuesday 6th August.

Thursday 1st August 2024: The Guisborough Giant Arts Trail officially opens on Saturday 3rd. Some art is visible now! The giants have been walking around the town and left their footprints in a trail between the giant objects they accidentally left behind.

Baby giant

Every footprint reproduces an original work of art as well as advertising the trail. It is an artvertisement. We hope you enjoy finding all the original designs, many of them by the brilliant students and staff of Laurence Jackson School.

To find all the objects use our map which you can also find on the centre pages of Di-Rectory this month.
