LOCATION: The Foundry
Roseberry Funeral Services occupies the former offices of the Guisborough Foundry, which employed up to 400 men at one time; the rest of the Foundry is now demolished but used to occupy an extensive site along Rectory Lane and adjacent to the (now disappeared) railway line and station.
While enjoying the audio, continue walking along the path beside Chapel Beck until you come to a bridge over the beck: cross the bridge and continue along Wilson St to Westgate; turn right onto Westgate and in a few paces you will arrive at the Ship Inn, claimed to be the oldest public house in Guisborough. Look out for our plaque which marks this location.
