This webpage is under construction for the launch of the Restorying sound trail 2025, an affectionate portrait of Guisborough featuring the voices, stories, music, poetry, art and ambient sounds of our beautiful town. A Guisborough Arts production in collaboration with Borderlands Creative People and Places.

At each location look out for the bright image of our plaque which provides a QR code and a web address. Scan the code or type the web address into your browser to open a link to listen to the audio trail.

LOCATION: Empire Cinema
The Empire Cinema stood in the yard adjacent to our plaque. The main entrance was a few yards further along, on Chaloner St behind the former Mechanics Institute. While enjoying the audio, walk a few yards westwards to Chaloner St, turn left and walk along Chaloner St to Founatin St, where you will find our plaque indicating the next location on the trail.
